Settings→ Storage→ List→ Edit Function

NOTE: If you have storage local to (at the same IP address) as the image server, and you have changed the IP address of the image server, you can use this function to change the storage IP address to that of the image server. Conversely, if you use this function to change the IP address of local storage on the image server, you effectively change the IP address of the image server. You must restart the OpForce and Secure Port Server services to update the DHCP server. You can restart these services using the Services shortcut under the Admin Tools icon in the Windows control panel.

Description

The Settings→ Storage→ List function displays the following table of attributes for a storage location. 

• List of images and details of the images contained in the storage location.
  
  
• List of RAID packages and details of the RAID packages contained in the storage location.

The following controls are also provided:

• Delete button — Deletes the storage location from Remote Install if the storage location does not contain images or RAID packages.
  
  
• Edit Storage — Updates the IP address of the storage location. Ensure that the updated IP address points to the same physical storage location. If it does not, errors during other operations such as deployment and RAID package installation will occur.

Prerequisites

You must add storage using the Settings→ Storage→ List→ Add Function to access this editing function. 

Operations and Inputs

NOTE: (*) indicates a required field or task.

1. Enter the following parameters for editing storage:
   
   
   • Storage Location (*) — The new IP address of the storage location.
     
     
   • User name (*) — User name to log in to the storage.
     
     
   • Password — Password used to log in to the storage. 

   You must re-enter the old login information even if you do not want to change the parameter.
   
   

2. Click Apply Changes.

Expected Results

The browser indicates that it is waiting for a response from the system. If editing is successful, you can access any images or RAID packages stored at the old IP address using the new IP address.

Possible Errors

Messages similar to the following may appear. The wording may vary.

• The storage location is not valid.
  
  
• Invalid username and/or password for the storage.
  
  
• The storage is not accessible by the image server.

Subsequent Operations

If you edit storage local to the image server, changing the IP address of the storage also changes the IP address of the image server; restart the Secure Port Server service to update the DHCP server according to the note at the beginning of this topic. If you edit remote storage, you do not need to perform any subsequent operations.
