Settings→ Storage→ List→ Add Function
Description
The Settings→ Storage→ List→ Add function adds storage to the image server
used to store images. Before you can create an image or import a RAID package,
you must create storage so that you can store images and update RAID packages.
Prerequisites
Create a shared directory that the image server can access.
Operations and Inputs
 |
NOTE: (*) indicates a required field or task. |
- Enter the following parameters for adding storage:
- Location (*) — The path name for storing images and update packages. Format the path
name as shown in the following example:
\\IPaddress\share
where IPaddress is the IP address of the storage server and share
is the name of the network share directory.
- User name (*) — User name to log in to the storage.
- Password — The password used to log in to the storage.
- Click Add to add the storage.
Expected Results
The browser indicates that it is waiting for a response from the system. If
the addition is successful, Remote Install adds storage to the image server.
Possible Errors
Messages similar to the following may appear. The wording may vary.
- The storage already exists in the database.
- The storage location is not valid.
- Invalid username and/or password for the storage.
- The storage cannot be accessible by the image server.
Subsequent Operations
After you create storage, you can capture an image, import an image, and
import an update package.
