Objectives:

  • Gather information about available funding;
  • Produce guidelines for the department and for each group about techniques to entice more grad students;

Meetings: Approximatively every two weeks for one hour, usually on Thursday at 12:30. The room DC3540 is booked from 12:30 to 14:00 for the next scheduled meetings on

Actions Proposed:

  • Propose a list of recipes at the level of the department or group.
    • How to invite potential Grad students as the AI group did, how much it costs on average, and how much can be funded by external resources.
    • How to pool to accept exceptional students even if their interest is not clear enough to interest a particular faculty member.
    • Recommendations to take URAs to find future Grad Students among undergrads.

  • Contact Dean's office (or others) to find out about eventual funding to help recruit grad students.
