Additional Math Resources
I cover background topics from Linear Algebra and Multivariate Calculus that are absolutely necessary for the main subject of CS484/684.
I try to present the mathematical background material in an intuitive way, e.g. focusing on geometric interpretations relevant for computer vision.
However, due to the time restrictions in CS484/684, the background review may not cover all the formal details normally found in a math course fully devoted
to the corresponding subjects.
You are very welcome to discuss and clarify any of the background material during the office hours with me or TAs. Besides, you may find it helpful to
explore the following external resources.
These can be useful in refreshing or learning the corresponding background material in more detail or depth.
Besides computer vision, such math background is essential for machine learning or data analysis courses, in general.

NOTE: Coursera allows students either to audit (get access to all materials including labs and quizzes,
but cannot submit assignments and quizzes for grades)
or to enroll in the course for $60 to be able to submit assignments and get a certificate after finishing the course.
If the course has any reading materials (?) they will be available for the audit version.
The students can declare that they need financial aid and apply for a free version
(that will provide access to all assignments and quizzes). Some write ups are required.
Based on what I heard from students, financial aid is always granted.
