People interested in working with me as a postdoctoral fellow, graduate student, or undergraduate research assistant are encouraged to submit an application.

To bring these applications to my attention, be sure to list me as a potential supervisor. (You do not need to confirm with me that this is OK—the purpose of these selections is to indicate your interest, and to signal to those managing the application processes that your application should be brought to my attention.)

Please do not send application materials directly to me; applications received directly through email will be treated as spam.

Also, please do not expect a response to email sent to me asking such things as "are you currently accepting students" or "do you have openings in your research group," or requesting an explanation of my current research interests, what kind of project you might pursue if I were to accept you as a student, or suggestions for what you should study pending the outcome of your application. I appreciate the interest of anyone that wishes to work with me, but please understand that it is not an efficient use of time to carefully read and respond to all inquiries from prospective students and postdocs. (Note that this does not include expressions of interest from University of Waterloo undergraduates interested in research assistantships or inquiries from students that have already received an offer of admission for graduate studies under my supervision.)
