First generation computers were new to the campus then but fascinated Arnie from the beginning. After completing his degrees in mathematics and computer science, Arnie accepted a teaching and administrative position in the Computer Science Department.
Arnie has had extensive involvement in course development and undergraduate administration with 14 years as a student advisor and 5 years in the dean's office, including a term as associate dean for undergraduate studies.
He is the author of several introductory textbooks in computer science and regularly publishes articles in journals relating to computer science education. Teaching and course development are his professional priorities.
Arnie is married with two children, plays squash regularly, loves both cross-country and down-hill skiing and enjoys gardening and woodworking when he can fit them into the kind of schedule dictated by a two-career family with growing, busy children.
