Claims are unfounded

The March 25 article, Age-Old Meets New Age, touting "alternative medical therapies" hit a new low.

I didn't find a single skeptical or critical word in the discussion of "chelation therapy". The U.S. Federal Trade Commission ruled in 1988 that chelation therapy's claims of effectiveness for atherosclerosis are unsubstantiated. Controlled, double-blind studies performed by German doctors showed no benefit in circulatory disease due to chelation therapy.

Chelation therapy has been linked to heart arrythmias, kidney damage, and other serious conditions.
