CS486/686 - Tests
There will be one midterm test of
75 minutes duration worth 20% of the final mark (15% for CS686). The midterm is scheduled on June 27th.
There will also be a final examination of 2.5 hours worth 40% of the
final mark
(35% for CS686) to be
scheduled by the registrar.
Final
- Date: Friday Aug 11th
(9 am - 11:30 am)
- Duration: 2.5 hrs
- Material subject to examination:
- Slides for lectures 7-25
- Textbook readings for lectures 7-25
- Assignments 2, 3 and 4
- No aids allowed (i.e., no notes, no lecture slides, no textbook,
no computer, etc.)
- Bring a non-programmable calculator
- No programming questions
- Questions will focus on concepts
- Exam style similar to the midterm
- To practice:
- I won't be on campus July 26th - Aug

- Assignment 4 is marked. You
can pick up your assignment
in the box outside of my office (DC2514). Jie Zhang wil hold office
hours on Aug 1st, 1-3pm in the AI
lab (DC2306C) to answer questions regarding
the marking scheme.
- With the TAs, I will hold two
special group
sessions to answer your questions:
- Monday Aug 7th, 1 pm - 3 pm
in the AI lab (DC2306C)
- Wednesday Aug 9th, 1 pm - 3 pm in the AI
lab (DC2306C)
Midterm
- Date: Tuesday June 27th
(in class). You must write the midterm in the section that you are
registered (i.e. 8:30-10am section or 11:30-1pm section)
