CS 842: Functional Parsing


This is the homepage for CS 842 at the University of Waterloo (Fall 2013). This course may be taken by undergraduates for credit with permission of the instructor and a CS advisor, though it does not count towards any specific CS major requirements.

Oct 3: Aaron Moss will present on October 9, covering packrat parsing. Please read the Bryan Ford paper on the subject (details on the Logistics page) and skim the paper on PEGs (parsing expression grammars). On October 16, Adam Rogiest will be talking about derivatives, and on October 23, Aurick Qiao on parser combinators. Details will follow.

Sept 20: Programming exercises have been posted on the Assignments page. Project proposals due October 2. Also, if someone wants to read and present / lead discussion on the derivative papers on Oct 9, please email the instructor.
