Information for Prospective Graduate Students

Thanks for your interest in my research and in the David R. Cheriton School of Computer Science. There are a number of faculty at the University of Waterloo with similar interests, so even if I'm not able to accept you, you may have an opportunity to study here with someone else, so please don't hesitate to apply online here.

I am very sorry, but due to the number of requests I get from students to personally evaluate their background and suitability for graduate studies at Waterloo, I'm unable to handle these types of requests. The only way to find out if you'll be accepted is to apply. Note that I am not on the admissions committee.

When you apply for graduate studies at Waterloo you are automatically considered for funding. For information about applying to our graduate program see the chapter on Admissions, Fees and Financial Support in the graduate student handbook. For information about the School, see the School's web page.

IMPORTANT NOTE: If you are interested in Operating Systems research, please make sure to select "Systems and Networking" as one of your subplans.

Good luck with your application,
Martin Karsten
