Bohemian Matrices and Applications

27th International Conference on Applications of Computer Algebra (ACA)
15-19 August 2022, Turkey

Organizers

Robert M. Corless, Mark Giesbrecht, George Labahn, Leili Rafiee Sevyeri,

Cheriton School of Computer Science, University of Waterloo, Canada

The goal of our session is to gather researchers who work either directly or indirectly with Bohemian matrices. Our aim is to present the state of the art results about Bohemian matrices and come up with a set of fundamental open problems which people from the community believe they will play a major role in the study of Bohemian matrices and their applications.

Study of bounded height matrices of integers (Bohemian), was started by asking questions about matrices of a (usually small) finite set of integers. Eigenvalues of such matrices are of special interest. The picture above shows the density of eigenvalues of an specific Bohemian matrix.

Tutorial: We will run a tutorial session (given by Rob Corless) on Bohemian matrices. The goal of the tutorial is to provide introductory information and well known results about Bohemian Matrices. Moreover, open questions related to these matrices will be presented, so that audience can have some questions in mind while they are attending the talks after this tutorial session. The details about the tutorial session will be available shortly.

Talks: The list of speakers and titles of talks will be announced in mid June. If you are interested in giving a talk, please submit an abstract of a talk to us by May 30, using the available LaTeX template .
