Bonjour, I am Damien đź‘‹. I am a Postdoctoral Researcher with Fanny Chevalier at the University of Toronto. I completed my PhD in the HCI Lab at the University of Waterloo where I was advised by Daniel Vogel, Edward Lank, GĂ©ry Casiez and Sylvain Malacria.
My long term goal is to improve how we communicate science, either in the way we express it, or by developing novel tools for those who produce and consume scientific information. My current research interests include (but are not limited to):
- Visualizing information (see Charagraph and ChartDetective)
- Augmenting digital documents (see Chameleon, Statslator, and my PhD thesis)
- Designing intelligent systems (see supercharging trial-and-error and DirectGPT)
