The Systems→ Deploy→ Deployment function deploys a preselected image and applies a preselected configuration to target systems. ("Deploying a system" means to deploy the image and then to apply the configuration.) Though Remote Install can deploy an image to multiple target systems simultaneously, it configures target systems individually. Multiple deployments always occur simultaneously. The maximum number of systems that you can deploy simultaneously is defined using the Preferences→ Remote Install→ Miscellaneous→ Multiple Deployments function. If you select more systems than allowed, Remote Install temporarily queues the remaining systems, but eventually deploys all selected systems.
The target system(s) must be in a Wait For Deployment, Admin, or Deployment Failure state.

The selected images and configurations are applied to the target systems. If you selected too many systems for the deployment, some systems go to the Queuing For Deployment state, in which they wait for deployment to occur. You can set the maximum number of simultaneous deployments using the Preferences→ Remote Install→ Miscellaneous→ Multiple Deployments function.
If you install a RAID package and then immediately deploy an image on that a target system, Remote Install requires additional reboots while the target system runs a check disk to synchronize the RAID disks.
