Settings→ DHCP→ List Function

Description

The Settings→ DHCP→ List function displays the following table of attributes for DHCP scopes. If scopes have not been added, this table is empty. See "Settings→ DHCP→ List→ Add Function" for information about adding a scope.

NOTICE: You must not assign systems to IP addresses within DHCP scopes that are assigned to Remote Install. Doing so can cause unpredictable behavior.

• Scope Name — The name of the scope specified by the user when the scope was added.
  
  
• Type — The type of the DHCP scope supported. You can select one of two DHCP scope type settings: General Purpose and System Management. 
  
  Scopes of the General Purpose type are used to assign IP addresses to the target systems. This IP address is assigned temporarily to the target system when they are discovered. The IP address of a target system running on an operating system is assigned during the configuration process, not by the DHCP server.
  
  Scopes of the System Management type are used to assign IP addresses to the ERA/MC.
  
  
• Starting IP Address — The beginning IP address of a scope.
  
  
• End IP Address — The ending IP address of a scope.
  
  
• Subnet Mask — The subnet mask of a scope.
  
  
• Gateway IP — The IP address of the router.

Prerequisites

You must add a scope using Add so that the scope is listed in the DHCP table. See "Settings→ DHCP→ List→ Add Function" for information about adding a scope.

Subsequent Operations

If you want to delete a DHCP scope from the DHCP table, click a scope in the table; this action displays the Delete button. Click Delete to delete the DHCP scope.
