| NOTICE: Applying a RAID package has the potential to corrupt the target system. Perform a capture for backup before applying a RAID package. Redeploy the backup image if applying the RAID package corrupts the target hard drive. |
The RAID Configuration→ Configure RAID function updates the RAID setting of a target system. The target system must be in Admin mode before you can apply a RAID package. When the application is complete, the target system boots to an Up state.
At least one target system and one RAID configuration package must exist on the image server. If the target system is currently running an operating system, reset the target system (using Systems→ Reset) to an Admin state before you install the RAID update package.
| NOTE: (*) indicates a required field or task. |
The target system reboots, Remote Install downloads the RAID package to the target system, and then the package runs to update the target system's RAID setting. When the update is finished, the target system reboots to an Admin state.
Messages similar to the following may appear. The wording may vary.
After you apply the RAID package to update the RAID setting of the target system, you can deploy an image to the system. The image you deploy on the system must be an image captured or imported from a similar RAID configuration. Deploying non-RAID based images may result in deployment failure.
After you deploy an image on the target system, Remote Install requires additional reboots while the target system runs a check disk to synchronize the RAID disks.
