Images→ Import/Export→ Import Function

Description

The Images→ Import/Export→ Import function enables you to import an image file to the image server. The image file must be in the .zip or .gz file format. This file must reside in a directory that the image server can access. Ensure that the storage used by the image server has enough space to import the image.

Prerequisites

Storage must exist on the image server. To add storage, select Settings→ Storage→ Add. 

Operations and Inputs

NOTE: (*) indicates a required field or task.

1. Enter parameters for image import
   
   
   • Image file location (*) — Select an image file location (such as C:\temp\imageForImport.zip). The file must exist on the image server.
     
     
   • Image name (*) — The intended image name when you import the image file to the image server.
     
     
   • Image description — Optional description field for the image.
     
     
   • Storage location (*) — Select the storage to store the imported image.
     
     
2. Click Import to start the image import.

NOTE: Images are always imported from a zip file. After import, the captured date for the imported image is displayed as the current date and time instead of the date and time of the original capture.

Expected Results

The browser remains busy waiting for a system response.

Possible Errors

Messages similar to the following may appear. The wording may vary.

• Image file does not exist.
  
  
• Image file is not accessible by the image server.
  
  
• Image name already exists.
  
  
• There is not enough space in the storage to import the image.

Subsequent Operations

After you import the image, you can deploy it to other systems.
