Intel PRO/1000 Adapter Messages

Below is a list of Intel PRO/1000 adapter custom event messages that appear in the Windows* Event Log.

Event ID Message Severity 
4 E1000X:
PROBLEM: Could not find a PRO/1000 adapter.
ACTION: Reinstall driver.
Error
5 E1000X:
PROBLEM: Driver could not determine which PRO/1000 adapter to load on.
ACTION: Reinstall driver.
Error
6 E1000X:
PROBLEM: Could not allocate the MAP REGISTERS necessary for operation.
ACTION: Select the adapter in the network control panel. Click Properties. Reduce the number of transmit descriptors and restart.

7 E1000X:
PROBLEM: Could not assign an interrupt for the PRO/1000.
ACTION: Run PROSet diagnostics.
ACTION: Try another PCI slot.

8 E1000X:
PROBLEM: Could not allocate memory necessary for operation.
ACTION: Reduce the number of receive descriptors and coalesce buffers, then restart.
