The "factory" default values are coded into Modem tables and set into the active configuration at initialization or by the ATZn command. The designated default profile is subsequently loaded, and may change some of the factory default values. The designated default profile can be changed by entering the &Yn command where n is one of the two possible user profiles.
The default values may be loaded at any time by entering the &Fn command.

This register specifies the maximum line connection speed.
If N0 is set (automoding disabled), the modem will connect at the specified rate only.
If N1 is set (automoding enabled, default), the modem will connect at the specified rate or any lower rate.
In V.90/V.92 mode, this register controls the upstream V.34 data rate.
