DSRG: Participant Instructions
As a participant, you are expected to read and understand the paper before the meeting. Although the coordinator will present a brief overview of the paper's key ideas, much of their presentation will focus on material beyond what is included in the paper (context, future work). Given your knowledge of the paper, you should discuss with the rest of the group:
  • Whether you agree or disagree with what the coordinator thinks are the key contributions (and if so, what you think they are)
  • Whether there is some prior or later work that the coordinator missed that provides more context to the problem this paper addresses
  • Any other limitations and benefits of the work beyond those mentioned by the coordinator (in their domain or expertise or otherwise)
  • Ideas for research to improve the ideas in the paper, extend them to other domains, or areas that they can be applied that have not yet been discussed.
