---+ MinUWet %TOC% ---++ Overview This application was developed by Erick Engelke in Engineering to help promote safe computing. It tests Windows laptops to ensure that they meet certain requirements before being allowed full network access. Without passwing the MinUWet check, the machine is limited to http/https access only. ---++ MinUWet info * [[http://www.minuwet.uwaterloo.ca/][Main MinUWet page]] * [[http://www.eng.uwaterloo.ca/~erick/minuwet/classify.php][MinUWet system classification page]] * [[http://www.bulletin.uwaterloo.ca/2006/mar/03fr.html][March 3, 2006 - Daily Bulletin announcement]] ---++ FAQ * [[http://www.eng.uwaterloo.ca/~erick/minuwet/minuwet_qna.htm][MinUWet FAQ]] ---++ Administration Guide * [[http://www.eng.uwaterloo.ca/~erick/minuwet/guide.htm][MinUWet Administration Guide]] ---++ Additional Notes * In discussion with Erick, we have learned that MinUWet relies on Microsoft's Security Centre for its anti-vrius report. Security Center is one of the features included with Windows XP Service Pack 2. If it is not installed, then MinUWet will try to detect Symantec AV, but cannot detect any other product. * To check what Security Center reports: * Start -> Control Panel -> Security Center -- Main.LawrenceFolland - 14 Mar 2006
