Rina Wehbe, PhD candidate
David R. Cheriton School of Computer Science

The presented talk will discuss gamification vs. games for change and their practical uses in today's society. The talk will also discuss the bespoke game design. Above Water — a digital/physical hybrid game, which attempts to inform people about anxiety disorders and mental wellness, specifically Anxiety Disorders-Generalized Anxiety Disorder and Panic Disorder. This hybrid game is designed to inspire players to share their experiences and develop their own personal narrative. I will also discuss our on going strategies to study the game and determine its effectiveness as a game to reduce stigma.
