SUMMARY:PhD Defence • Human-Computer Interaction — Systems for Managing
 \nWork-Related Transitions
CLASS:PUBLIC
DESCRIPTION:ALEX WILLIAMS\, PHD CANDIDATE\n_David R. Cheriton School of Co
mputer Science_\n\nPeoples’ work lives have become ever-populated with t
ransitions\nacross tasks\, devices\, and environments. Despite their ubiqu
itous\nnature\, managing transitions across these three domains has remain
ed a\nsignificant challenge. Current systems and interfaces for managing\n
transitions have explored approaches that allow users to track\nwork-relat
ed information or automatically capture or infer context\,\nbut do little
to support user autonomy at its fullest.
