SUMMARY:Seminar • Data Systems — Managing Big Multidimensional Data —
A\nJourney from Data Acquisition to Prescriptive Analytics
CLASS:PUBLIC
DESCRIPTION:TORBEN BACH PEDERSEN\, PROFESSOR OF COMPUTER SCIENCE\n_Aalborg
University_\n\nData collected from new sources such as sensors and smart
devices is\nlarge\, fast\, and often complex. There is a universal wish to
  perform\nmultidimensional OLAP-style analytics on such data\, i.e.\, to t
urn it\ninto “Big Multidimensional Data.” Supporting this is a\nmulti
-stage journey\, requiring new tools and systems\, and forming a\nnew\, ex
tended data cycle with models as a key concept. We will look at\nthree spe
cifics steps in this data cycle.
