Printing in Student Computing Environment

Recommended Printers for Undergraduates

Undergraduate students should use the campus Uprint student printing system. It provides access to student printers across campus. As of September 2014, there are printers in MC3006, MC3008, MC3009. Sometime soon, a printer in MC2061 will also be available.

Currently, the uPrint printers are only accessible (on CS teaching systems) via a WWW form at

https://uwaterloo.ca/uPrint

It will require your userid, and WatIAM/Quest password. The file to be printed must be in either PDF or Microsoft Office format. Once it has been submitted for printing on a specific printer, a second web page is used to cause the printing to start.

Enabling printing directly from applications (on CS teaching systems) remains to be implemented. Until it is, save the page to be printed as a PDF, and then submit that for printing using the above WWW form.
