Service Records - The "Group" Field

The "Group" field in the Create Request form describes which part of the faculty is requesting assistance. These are the departments and schools within the faculty.

A common concern of those who pay for the work is whether each group is receiving their proper share of available support resources. So we're obliged to ask this question.

By default, the form looks in the UW Directory to find your department, so you almost never have to fill this in.

When specifying this field in a customized sort or display, any of the names "department", "Department", "Dept" (for terse output), or "Unit" (for terse output) can be used.
