Welcome to the David R. Cheriton School of Computer Science

The Cheriton School of Computer Science is named for David R. Cheriton, who earned his PhD in Computer Science in 1978, and made a transformational gift to the school in 2005. It has become the largest academic concentration of Computer Science researchers in Canada.

  1. Aug. 23, 2019Jason Amri, first-year CS student, awarded $80k Schulich Leader Scholarship

    Jason Amri, a high school student from Ancaster, Ontario, is making his way to the David R. Cheriton School of Computer Science with a prestigious Schulich Leader Scholarship, the largest STEM scholarship in Canada for programs in science, technology, engineering and mathematics.

    Researchers have developed a new voice assistant that allows people with visual impairments to get web content as quickly and as effortlessly as possible from smart speakers and similar devices.

    JC Chang, a PhD student at the Cheriton School of Computer Science, his supervisor Professor Christopher Batty and Vinicius Azevedo, a postdoctoral researcher at ETH Zurich, have received the best poster award at SCA 2019, the ACM SIGGRAPH / Eurographics Symposium on Computer Animation.
